| How many levels of ESL are there? |
There are four levels:

| When can I sign up for classes? | You can sign up at any time during the semester. Check the calendar for sessions at Serramonte. |
| How long is each class? | 2-3 hours |
| How do I register? | Register at the office or with the teacher if your class is at a community location. |
| Do I have to take a test? | There is a placement test and there are tests three times a semester to assess progress. |
| Can I take more than one class? | Yes. |

| Can I bring my child to school? | Classes at Jefferson High School and some elementary schools have childcare available. Check the tab that says Childcare under Students in the menu bar at the top for locations. |
| Can I attend school if I can't come every day? | Yes, but you need to tell the teacher. If you are absent, you need to call your teacher, call the office, e-mail your teacher, or give your teacher a note. |
| Can I come back if I have been absent for a long time? | Yes. You will need to re-enroll in the office. At Serramonte, you will need to enroll in the following session. |
| If I can't come anymore, what should I do? | Call or e-mail the teacher. |
| How long does it take to complete the levels of ESL? | There is no time limit. It depends on student progress; generally one or two years per level. |
| Do you have computer labs? | Most of the classes have computer labs available. |
| Can I check my e-mail at school? | You may only use computers for school work. |
| Can I use a cell phone at school? | Yes, but in class keep the phone off or on vibrate. If you must use your cell phone, please leave the classroom. |
| Can I come to school late and/or leave early? | Yes, but you need to tell the teacher. |
| Do teachers speak other languages? | Several teachers speak other languages but because we have students from many countries, we prefer to use English. |
