Adult education classes are open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Most classes start the first week of the semester. Click on Classes on the top menu bar and choose the class you are interested in for more information. Registration takes place in the adult education office at Serramonte del Rey and Jefferson High School or, for community locations, in class with the instructor at the first class meeting on the day, time, and place indicated on the schedule. Students may register at the beginning of the sessions at Serramonte (see the Calendar in the top menu for dates and times) or at any time during the semester at other locations depending upon space availability.
No Cost ClassesClasses offered at no cost to participants are supported by public education funds. These classes include Adult High School Diploma and GED, English as a Second Language, preparation for citizenship and some computer classes.
Fee-Based Classes
These classes are supported by student fees, based on a price of $2.50 per hour. Most fee-based classes meet weekly for 12 weeks. The fee for two-hour classes is $60 and three-hour classes is $90. Jefferson Adult Education is interested in expanding fee-based classes to fulfill community interest.
